Norway – Medical equipments, pharmaceuticals and personal care products – LC-MSMS kit for analysing antiepileptics and benzodiazepines for clinical pharmacology at Oslo University Hospital.

The objective of the procurement is the procurement of LC-MS/MS analysing kits for antiepileptics and benzodiazepines. Currently analyses of the following antiepileptics are currently performed at the Section for clinical pharmacology SSE on LC-MS/MS using kits: Brivaracetam, likarbazepine (active metabolite of eslikarbazepine and occarbazepine), ethosuksimide, felbamat, phenobarbital, phenytoin, gabapentin, carbamazepine, lakosamid, lamotrigin, levetiracetam, perampanel, pregabalin, rufinamid, stiripentol, sultiam, tiagabin, topiramate, valproat, zonisamidine, free phenytoin, free valproat and carbamazepine oxide. In addition, LC-MS/MS analyses of senobamate and cannabidiol are not included in the current kit, and there are plans to establish analysis for phenfluramine and metabolite norfenfluramine. If possible it is desirable that these analytes are also included in the kit for antiepileptics, possibly that the manufacturer has or will assess the possibility of taking in new, relevant analytes in the kit. Analysis of benzodiazepines klobazam and desmetylklobazam is carried out with a kit based method on LC-MS/MS. It is under consideration as to whether one should continue with the use of commercial kit (possibly also expanding the analyttrepertoaret), for analysis of benzodiazepines. The analyses are currently run on Vanquish Quantis MD instruments, but shimadzu LCMSMS-860NX CL (+CLAM-40) or Agilent 6495D/6475A instrumentation will be relevant in the near future. The estimated number of samples per annum is 12,000 samples for antiepileptics and 2,000 samples for benzodiazepines. The stated consumption/extent is an estimate for information to the tenderer and is not binding for the future contract volume. Increased need can occur with a general increase in the number of samples due to population development and increased requisition of samples or similar. Such conditions are expected to increase the need by 25%, and the procurement ́s maximum extent is therefore equal to the value of the estimated amount stated price form plus 25 %.
